In Vol. 19, No. 1 & 2 (2020) we documented Peter Ullrich’s expert opinion on the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s working definition of anti-Semitism. In the current issue of our journal we take up the topic again and publish of a discussion forum with contributions by Sina Arnold, Dana Ionescu, Uffa Jensen, Keith Kahn-Harris und Peter Ullrich, coordinated by Florian Weis. It is our concern to provide the impetus for a critical-constructive further development and, if possible, improvement of anti-Semitism definitions in order to put the fight against anti-Semitism on a reliable basis.
During the creation of this issue, three esteemed colleagues passed away. Under the heading Documentation we publish resp. set links to obituaries for Georg Lind (June 24, 1947 – November 30, 2021), Rolf Verleger (December 17, 1951 – November 8, 2021) and Hans Werbik (February 27, 1941 – December 20, 2021); who were closely connected to conflict & communication online. We will miss you.
We also set links to Reporters Without Borders’ barometer and current ranking of press freedom as well as to a Global Map which explores internet restrictions and censorship in 175 countries
The issue concludes with a review of my book Friedensjournalismus [Peace Journalism] recently published by Nomos.
